Alongside personal development and analytical and decision-making abilities, it emphasises public-sector land policy, legislation and planning, and private-sector skills in development and management, valuation, registration, property investment and finance, surveying, land use and transport planning. It also establishes a foundation for research in land economics and land law.

Department of Real Estate and Built Environment, National Taipei University

Source inconsistency: this heading and its link identify National Taipei University, but the paragraph beneath refers to National Cheng Kung University and its Department of Geomatics. Both are retained for archival comparison; the text should not be treated as a verified description of National Taipei University.

The paragraph describes a department within National Cheng Kung University's College of Engineering. It explains that the rapid development of geospatial technology integrated surveying engineering with information technology, satellite technology and electronic measurement, including GPS, remote sensing and geographic information systems.

According to that paragraph, the department adopted the English name “Department of Geomatics” in 2004; its Chinese name refers to surveying and spatial information. It seeks to train spatial information engineers and researchers in response to international developments and national engineering and information infrastructure policies.

Department of Real Estate Management, National Pingtung University

Listed features include professional examination support, technological development, internships and guest lectures, practical projects and a dedicated GIS classroom.

Department of Urban Planning and Development Management, Chinese Culture University

The source states that the Department of Municipal Administration was approved in autumn 1965 and renamed the Department of Urban Planning and Development Management in 2017.

Its courses are organised around urban and regional planning and real estate operations and management, combining theory and practice. In addition to specialist teaching spaces and information hardware and software, the student association runs an “internship city government” modelled on local government and council procedures, enabling students to experience municipal execution and oversight.

Annual activities include a national planning-school internship exhibition, domestic inter-university planning and design workshops, international workshops and overseas study. The archived description reports participation in Ministry of Science and Technology undergraduate research projects and increasing admission or qualification rates for postgraduate study, professional certificates and civil-service examinations. These are source-period statements, not newly verified performance claims.

NLSC Map Service

The National Land Surveying and Mapping Center established this service to integrate core geographic resources such as Taiwan's electronic map, land-use survey results and cadastral maps. The original describes it as the successor to the national surveying and mapping web map service system.

The service seeks to provide common specifications and consistent mapping data for use by different sectors, making up-to-date national mapping resources broadly available.

Taichung Urban Planning Resources

The original description lists the bureau's leadership as one director, two deputy directors, one chief secretary, one chief engineer, two senior specialists and four deputy chief engineers.

It lists sections or offices for comprehensive planning, urban and rural planning, urban planning surveying and engineering, urban design engineering, urban renewal engineering, construction management, construction works, use management, urban restoration engineering, secretariat, personnel, accounting and civil service ethics, together with a housing development engineering department. This is the organisation described by the historical source and should be checked against the bureau's current structure.

Mobile Soil and Water Conservation Services

The service is introduced as a way to quickly look up soil and water conservation information in Taiwan.

The description traces Taiwan's conservation work to 1951, when the Joint Commission on Rural Reconstruction began experimental and pilot programmes and promoted conservation on individual farms. From 1952, technical personnel training and farmland conservation demonstrations became priorities.

On 16 May 2023, the Legislative Yuan passed the organisation act for the Ministry of Agriculture. The Council of Agriculture became the ministry, and the agency became the Agency of Rural Development and Soil and Water Conservation.

Geological Sensitive Area Inquiry System

This system provides online information on geologically sensitive areas.

The original account records that on 7 June 2023 the organisation acts for the Ministry of Economic Affairs and its Geological Survey and Mining Management Agency were promulgated. The Central Geological Survey and Bureau of Mines were merged into the new agency, effective 26 September 2023. The description identifies it as the national agency responsible for geological surveys and mineral, rock and soil resource administration, with six operational units and four administrative units.

The listed statutory functions are:

  • Developing, implementing, supervising and managing policies and rules concerning geological surveys, mining, and rock and soil extraction.
  • Planning, implementing and supervising national surveys and monitoring of basic geology, resource geology and geological hazards; and promoting geological applications in spatial planning, engineering, resource development, disaster prevention and environmental conservation.
  • Planning, implementing, promoting, coordinating and supervising surveys, designation and use of geologically sensitive areas.
  • Supervising and inspecting mine safety and disaster prevention; conducting management, investigation and assessment; and administering industrial explosives.
  • Planning, implementing and supervising the collection, management, application and promotion of national geological and mineral, rock and soil information.
  • Other matters concerning geological surveys and mineral, rock and soil resource management.

National Land-use Zoning Inquiry System

The archived description states that the Ministry of the Interior and local governments were reviewing draft spatial-planning functional zoning maps. It directs readers to the relevant municipality or county/city public-exhibition inquiry system for the latest draft information. The wording reflects the stage of the process described by the source.

Building Permit Record Inquiry System

The source explains that the records are maintained for the local government's building administration and that the database was still being developed.

Search results are not evidence that a legal building or legally required open space exists, and are not intended as proof for property transactions or court proceedings. Sellers should fully disclose the land's building-application history rather than rely on these search results as proof.

Whether the land contains a lawful building dating from before building controls, or a lawful building not yet entered in the database, must be determined from the facts under the applicable rules.

National Statistics: Statistical Tables

The Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics provides price-index statistics, including the consumer price index and annual changes; CPI excluding fruit, vegetables and energy and its annual changes; seasonally adjusted CPI and monthly changes; CPI series using different base periods for tax purposes; the rent component and annual changes; and indices for important household necessities and annual changes.

Announced Land Current Values and Land Prices

The source directs users to the Department of Land Administration, Ministry of the Interior, to inquire about announced land current values and land prices.

Average Deposit and Base Rates of Five Major Banks

The Central Bank website provides average deposit rates and average base rates for five major banks: Bank of Taiwan, Taiwan Cooperative Bank, First Commercial Bank, Hua Nan Commercial Bank and Land Bank of Taiwan.

The original description specifies that the deposit-rate series refers to fixed rates on ordinary time deposits.

Laws and Regulations Database

The linked database provides updates and retrieval of laws and regulations, rather than individual legal advice. The source recommends contacting the authority responsible for a rule if legal questions arise.

Its legal texts are prepared from electronic files or transcribed written material supplied by government bodies. If a discrepancy exists, the official text published by the competent authority takes precedence.

The archived description says that the database is updated on Fridays and that laws and orders published during a week are included the following Friday after compilation. This preserves the source's service description rather than confirming a current service timetable.

Soil and Groundwater Remediation Website

The original introduction describes a transition from verifying site contamination towards assessing its effects and undertaking pollution control and remediation.

Because remediation is complex, the extent of pollution requires scientific evidence, and selecting treatment methods requires consideration of both objective and contextual factors. The description calls for practical remediation approaches that reflect domestic social and economic conditions, safeguard the sustainable use of land and groundwater, improve living conditions and protect public health.

National Land Management Agency: Functional Zoning Map Information

The source cites Article 7 of the regulations for preparing spatial-planning functional zoning maps and land-use designations. After a public exhibition ends, the local authority is to submit the maps and land-use inventory to its spatial planning review council, together with an explanatory document and comments submitted by people or organisations.

Information about review progress, results, public comments and their treatment is to be published online or through another suitable platform.

The system supports local government disclosure and enables inquiries about functional zones, classifications and land-use designations. Results are for reference; official local government announcements take precedence.

158 Spatial Information Website, Taichung City Government

The Taichung Land Administration Bureau describes this website as an integrated source of housing and property information.

By publishing and bringing together property-related public data, it enables residents, academics and property professionals to look up available sales and rentals and market conditions for transactions, research and professional work. Government agencies can also consult the information in carrying out their functions and monitor the housing and property markets as a basis for policy and development decisions.
